Therefore, any mammal (other than a rabbit or rodent) that bites or otherwise potentially exposes a human to rabies must be reported to the Los Angeles County health officials and quarantined. If you or one of your staff members is bitten or otherwise exposed, immediately wash the wound with soap and water, report the exposure to Dr. Tim Lawson (or the veterinarian on call after business hours, at pager 96545), and go to Occupational Health (or the Emergency Department after business hours). |
